All-wheel park not among Trail’s top priorities

An all-wheel park will not be included in Trail’s budget this year but it’s on the city’s long list of priorities.

Last night city council unveiled their strategy for tackling their many projects and initiatives lined up for the short and long term.

The all-wheel park wasn’t listed as a “now” priority but rather a “next” priority.

Mayor Mike Martin says the city will first release a comprehensive survey to gain an understanding of if the community supports the facility.

The Friends of the Trail Skate Park made an emotional plea to council last month to include the facility in this year’s budget.

Key issues included on the city’s “now” priority list are negotiating new recreation agreements with Warfield and Area B, and the design and construction of the Riverfront Centre.
