RDCK rejects bids for transfer station upgrades

For the second time in recent weeks the Regioanl District of Central Kootenay has rejected bids on a contract because they came in too high.

The Kaslo and Balfour waste transfer stations need upgrading.

Five bids were received for the work and all have been rejected.

The RDCK says the lowest tender would have put things way over their $ 1.25 million dollar budget.

The scope of the project will be revised and the bidders will be asked to sharpen their pencils.

Recently the RDCK had to reject bids on the big aquatic centre upgrades in Nelson because the quotes were too expensive.
