Bicycle-riding bandit steals backpack in Trail

A man stole a woman’s backpack from off her shoulder while riding by on a bicycle in Trail’s Gyro Park yesterday.

RCMP Cpl. Darryl Orr says it happened in the middle of the afternoon but no one else saw it.

The suspect is described as late 40s or early 50s with a grey beard and unkempt shoulder length hair, and 5’5″ to 5’7″.

He was wearing jeans and a jean or cord-type jacket and was riding a light green and white mountain bike.

The backpack contained numerous items including the victim’s purse.
