Two local organizations are getting in on the province’s $1.7 million dollars worth of funding to fight invasive plants.
The Central Kootenay Invasive Plant Committee will receive nearly $48,000 of that to put towards local projects.
Executive Director Jennifer Vogel says they are looking forward to working with the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources.
The RDKB also received over $41,000 for initiatives to fight invasive plants.
Vogel says a priority for them this year is Knotweed species on crown land.
