Free site-seeing rides for seniors?

The city of Castlegar and West Kootenay Transit have been asked to host a free site seeing tour for seniors.

The BC Seniors Society proposed the idea to Castlegar council and staff.

The theory is a free day of rides for seniors would educate them on local transit options and encourage them to use it to access services in the community.

Councillor Bruno Tassone thinks it’s a great idea.

The Seniors Society would like the event to be held Wednesday June 3rd during Seniors Week.

West Kootenay Transit is offering free rides throughout the region today in support of Earth Day.
