Rossland hires interim CAO

Rossland’s new interim CAO is the perfect guy for the job.

This from Mayor Kathy Moore who says she personally went through numerous resumes and created a short list of five people before deciding on local resident Mike Maturo.

Maturo is taking over for existing CAO Cecile Arnott who was chosen by her predecessor – former CAO Victor Kumar.

Arnott has been on medical leave for nearly two years now and it’s not clear if she will return to work.

Maturo previously worked for the city from 2007 to 2013 as a senior planner.

Moore believes he will benefit the city tremendously in the wake of the Auditor General for Local Government’s report that says staff and council failed tax payers.
