Re-hire of Rossland manager not like GF:mayor

Another local community is explaining its decision to bring back a senior administrator after letting them go.

The city of of Rossland announced this week it has hired Mike Maturo as interim CAO two years after not renewing his contract as Senior Planner.

This follows news out of Grand Forks who fired CAO Doug Allin last year only to rehire him this year after a $115,000 severance package.

Here’s Alpine City Mayor Kathy Moore.

Moore says Maturo was paid a compensation package when he was let go in 2013.

Some Grand Forks residents have started a petition asking for the Auditor General to look at their CAO situation.
