Flop house and vehicle crime:NPD

An unpleasant surprise for a Nelson family who’d just returned from an extended vacation.

Nelson Police Dept say suspects had entered the unoccupied home and were using it as a flop house. Also jewelry and other precious items were stolen.

A police forensics team are investigating.

Meanwhile there’s been a rash of thefts from vehicles in Nelson.

They’re being targetted all over the city and police say it’s not uncommon for culprits to walk down a row of parked vehicles looking for the unlocked ones.
