The man who robbed several businesses in our region at gun-point has pleaded guilty to many in a long list of charges against him.
35 year old Andrew Stevenson made a rare appearance in Nelson court Tuesday. He’d appeared via video link since attempting to escape the court last year.
Flanked in the dock by two burly sheriffs he confirmed the guilty pleas to eight counts as read out by his lawyer Ken Wyllie.
Wyllie says his client will have his say when he appears again June 22nd.
Stevenson pleaded guilty to armed robbery of several financial institutions in Nelson and Castlegar and a Robson store. He actually fired his gun in the robbery of the Kootenay Currency Exchange. He also admitted to break and enters at pharmacies.
His partner and co-accused Krista Kalmikoff awaits her trial.
