Kindness Creates Wellness mental health initiative

A new initiative is connecting parents, youth,teachers and doctors across our region.

The Kindness Creates Wellness events aim to increase mental health literacy.

Rachel Schmidt – Project Manager at the Kootenay Boundary Division of Family Practice -says a panel of experts engage with the community after a showing of the documentary called “Happy”- which breaks down the fundamentals of happiness.

65 people attended the first event in Castlegar with the next happening at Salmo Secondary School next month.

Other events are planned for Kaslo, Nelson and Trail.
