BCTF should go to Supreme Court:local union

BC teachers must take their case to the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of all unionized workers in this country.

This from Kootenay Columbia Teachers Union President Andy Davidoff in reaction to Thursday’s BC Court of Appeal ruling in favour of government.

4 of 5 court justices found the Province did not violate teachers’ charter rights when it removed class size and composition from their collective bargaining 13 years ago.

But Davidoff says that sets a troubling precedent for governments.

Davidoff agrees with BCTF President Jim Iker that union dues should be spent to keep fighting this legal battle.
