Ymir skatepark under construction

Ymir’s outdoor skatepark should be ready for use next month.

Local volunteers are currently putting together the modest facility.

Local Emily Hedges is among many people involved in fund raising or helping out in one way or another.

Most of the $25,000 budget was fund-raised.

It will be a beginner-intermediate park and measure 60 ft x 70 ft.

Hedges says there had been a demand for the facility from various population groups in recent years.
