Touchstones wins award

A big award for the Touchstones Nelson museum.

It won the Canadian Museum Association’s Outstanding Achievement for Exhibitions for an organisation with an annual budget under $1 million.

Executive Director Leah Best says the work titled “Roll on Columbia” was launched in Spokane last year at the trans-boundary conference on the Columbia River Treaty.

The exhibition will go on display at Touchstones in November.

Meanwhile from late May they’ll be celebrating 60 years of the museum society with a special exhibit of 60 different Nelson items. Local sponsors are being sought for each item.
