Vancouver can be template to marijuana regulation

A Nelson marijuana advocate says communities across Canada are keeping a close eye on Vancouver which is leading the way.

Herb Couch the local organiser with Sensible BC  – which advocates for the full regulation of marijuana – sees Vancouver’s approach to regulating medical pot dispensaries as a template for a future that cuts out the black market.

Couch says marijuana dispensaries are sprouting up in Vancouver and elsewhere because the federal government’s program is not meeting the medical needs of citizens.

He says while local government can’t tackle the current federal laws they should do the right thing by addressing regulations on where and how such dispensaries can operate.
