Nelson’s downtown upheaval:good and bad

There’s certainly inconvenience for Nelson’s downtown businesses and the driving public but there’s also a positive spin to all the construction.

This from the Chamber’s Tom Thomson as the Hall Street corridor upgrades and work around Nelson Commons gets going in earnest.

He’s had half a dozen people come through his office the past week looking to relocate to the Queen City and figures what they see isn’t a negative image.

But Thomson acknowledges some businesses aren’t happy about the lack of parking and access at the moment although they understand its short term pain for long term gain.

The city has now put up directional signs at intersections pointing the way to various stores.
