MP briefed on big Nelson grant application

The MP for Kootenay-Columbia has been briefed on Nelson’s big grant application to the Federal Building Canada Fund.

Conservative David Wilks met with local government officials recently about the $4 million application for the future phase of Nelson’s Hall Street Corridor project.

The Queen City will be part of his riding come the next election.

He says he’s discussed the project at a higher level.

Wilks says it’s not his style to favour the Nelson project over others as a political move to bolster voting chances and he’s worked closely with outgoing NDP MP Alex Atamanenko on all local applications.
