Eco Society reacts to Govt Climate Team

A local environmental group knows exactly what it will be telling the government’s newly appointed climate leadership team.

David Reid with the West Kootenay Eco Society says liquified natural gas must be abandoned because of it’s huge impact on climate.

But even if that can’t be stopped they’ll also be looking for tweaks to the formula on the carbon tax.

He says the carbon tax is a good thing but must be hiked to target polluters.

The climate leadership team of various experts will draft a framework for BC’s next phase for tackling climate change.
