Search ends for missing man

The body of 21 year old John Nichols has been located by search and rescue teams.

He had been missing for almost a week after he was last seen Friday.

It’s believed he went off for a walk from a residence on Awesome View Rd, Beasley. But he had no gear or food with him.

South Columbia Search and Rescue hunted for the Australian for about 14 hours Wednesday in difficult and dangerous terrain that included drops of up to 150-feet in the canyon and falls area of Falls Creek.

Close to the end of the day 12 of the 23 members involved in the search conducted a close grid search and the body of Nichols was found around 7:30 pm.

RCMP released a statement saying foul play was not suspected and further details would not be released pending notification of family members. The investigation is being conducted by the BC Coroner.
