John Slater dies

The former MLA for the Boundary-Similkameen, John Slater , has died.

Slater served with the Liberal government from 2009 to 2013.

He was mayor of Osoyoos and a long-serving councillor before going into provincial politics.

In a statement Premier Christy Clark called Slater a colleague and a friend who served his community around Osoyoos for three decades.

Slater was a farmer and was heavily involved in the formation of the new Provincial Water Act.
