Local S&R members reach new standard

Some local volunteers have become the first in Canada to secure the new licensing standard for swift water search and rescue.

This after intense training sessions on Slocan River.

Nelson’s Chris Armstrong – our regional rep with BC Search and Rescue – says the volunteers who get involved in this sort of specialist technical training are an incredible asset.


The new licence standard for swift water rescue is a partnership between BC SAR and the BC Raft Outfitters Association.
