Castlegar Youth Council wants to be heard

What is there for youth to do in Castlegar?

It was a question posed by the Youth Council’s Deziree Weiss to City Council this week.

The Youth Council is a program out of the Castlegar Community Services Society.

Weiss says they would like a place to go similar to Nelson’s Youth Centre.

Weiss would like a dialogue started between the Youth and City Council – something she says is lacking.

Last year the Castlegar Community Services Society received funding from the Columbia Basin Trust and Vancouver Foundation for a four year Youth Council pilot project.
