Rural wildfire west of Rossland under investigation

A 2-hectare wildfire that required crews from the Regional Fire department and forestry is under investigation.

It happened West of Rossland Saturday evening on the Cascade Road.

The fire started off as a lower level blaze but then got into the trees.

Fire Information Officer Fanny Bernard says it is believed to be human caused.

The regional fire department had almost 30 personnel on hand.

The SE Fire Centre dispatched a water bomber, initial attack crew and a unit crew.

The fire is under control.
