Be vigilant: SE Fire Centre

Our South East Fire Centre says since April they’ve responded to 39 wildfires and 34 of those were human caused.

The Ministry of Forests says these incidents serve as a reminder for people to be vigilant given the heightened wildfire risk.

They highlight the need for riders of recreational vehicles and operators of forestry equipment to take special care.

All terrain vehicles produce a lot of heat and their exhaust systems can spark a fire.

Cigarette butts should not be thrown from vehicles.
