A rural director whose area includes the stretch of highway between Castlegar and Playmor junction says something has to be done about the high rate of accidents there.
Andy Davidoff says the Tarrys Volunteer Fire Department was called out more than 40 times last year as first-responders.
He says he’ll be talking with the RCMP, ICBC and Highways to try to work out what’s causing this.
Davidoff says it doesn’t make sense that a straight stretch of highway can have so many accidents.
