Premiere tonight for Nelson film maker

A local filmmaker premieres her documentary series tonight about the many characters to travel to Nelson over the years.

Directed by Amy Bohigian Dreamers and Dissidents is nine short films about war resisters, immigrants and other interesting individuals who have found a home in the Queen City.

The features are comprised of archival photos.

Bohigian says she started her research at the Touchstones Museum but quickly started getting information just from people off the streets.

The premiere is being hosted by B.C’s Knowledge Network which commissioned the project.

Here’s President and CEO Rudy Buttignol.

The films show at 7:30 at the Civic Theatre.
