Local cliff-jumper death:Coroner’s report

The BC Coroner has found intoxication by alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the death of a local man last June.

25 year old Wyatt Davidson was cliff-jumping with a friend near gray creek on the east shore of Kootenay Lake. He hit the water hard, was motionless and then went under.

Eight days later his body was recovered by a specialist private crew over 130-feet down and about 3-metres from the shoreline.

The Coroner reports Davidson had broken his neck. But toxicology reports also conclude he had alcohol in his blood as well as MDMA or ecstasy.
