Outdoor fire ban partly rescinded

Open fires are once again permitted in our South East Fire Centre region.

Recent wet weather has decreased the risk of wildfires and authorities say we can burn piles of debris up to 3-metres wide and 2-metres high.

A total ban on all outdoor burning -except for small camp fires – was announced last month with the dry, hot weather.

But now fires are allowed in BC Parks and on public and private land where local government bylaws do not prohibit them.
