Tweaks and auditions for Nelson opera

The creators of the latest made-in-Nelson opera have had a re-think on making large puppets the main star performers.

Marty Horswill the producer of Jorinda  says they’re keeping some shadow-puppets and smaller ones on strings but they realised the story requires intricate human movement.

Auditions for those dancers as well as a women’s chorus and puppeteers happen Friday 13th.

Jorinda is composed by Nelson’s Doug Jamieson and premieres in November.
