Road clear for Nelson Grad cavalcade

The city of Nelson says the major downtown road works will not impact the 2015 Grad Cavalcade Saturday afternoon.

The digging up of the intersection at Hall and Vernon St has been scheduled to follow the popular event. It goes at 4pm.

Meanwhile Nelson Police and ICBC are reminding parents of the need to ensure their teens have planned rides to and from any parties.

Every day from June through August nineteen youth in BC are injured in crashes.

ICBC says parents need to take an active role in speaking with their teens and encouraging them to take a stand against drink driving.
