The Kootenay jobless numbers remain stable although they continue to lag the provincial stats.
We had what Stats Canada calls a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 7.2% for May. It was 7.3% in May last year.
The BC rate is at 6.1 %. That’s a slight decline from the 6.3% in April.
The national jobless rate remained the same month over month at 6.8%.
