Arrests after crane climbing caper

A couple of men who decided to do some recreating on the big construction crane at the Nelson Commons development have been charged with mischief.

They were arrested after on-site security reported them for climbing it in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

In another matter Nelson Police have been giving some info about a high speed multi-vehicle response to a call-out in the Lower Fairview neighborhood Friday evening.

A man with a baseball bat had forced entry to a residence and accosted a woman. He was restrained by other occupants before police arrested him.

NPD says it was not a random act.
