The RDCK is close to hiring a management team to oversee the near $5 million renovation to the aquatic Centre at the Nelson and District Community Complex.
In a statement it said six firms had bid on the project and they now have a short list of 3 very qualified companies. A final selection will be made in July. In the meantime the pool remains open.
Last month the Recreation Commission (Nelson and Areas E and F) decided to move away from a lump sum bid when tenders came in way over budget.
Instead a management company will be commissioned to refine the scope of the work and hire people for individual sub-projects.
