Concerns for safety of missing Blewett Rd man

Local RCMP released the following information Saturday afternoon regarding a missing man who is believed to have mental health issues.

On 2015-06-13 at 0500 hours Joe Moyer, age 42, walked away from his family home in the 4000 block of Blewett Rd, near Nelson BC.  Moyer was alone and in the company of his back lab dog and was believed to be heading west towards the Kootenay Canal.
Moyer is described as 185 cm (6’1) 104 kg (230lbs), with long, grey curly hair, unshaven, wearing grey pants, a black winter type jacket and not wearing any shoes.   The family became concerned when he had not returned later in the morning and called police for assistance just before noon.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance as there are believed to be some mental health issues that require medical attention.
If you see, or have seen this individual please call 911.  Please do not approach this person as it is reported his dog can be defensive on behalf of the owner.
