It’s hard to see how the developers of the proposed Jumbo Glacier Resort will get their project off the ground now.
That’s the message from Nelson-Creston New Democrat Michelle Mungall in reaction to the government’s determination that the project has not substantially started.
So the resort cannot proceed unless a whole new environmental assessment certificate is obtained.
Only the foundations of two buildings are underway at Jumbo and the government concluded that’s well short of what was planned.
Their certificate, which was issued in October 2004, has now officially expired.
