All-time June temperature records threatened

It appears we’re in line for a record breaking weekend of high temperatures for this period of June.

Environment Canada has issued historical data suggesting if the forecast high of 40 C for Sunday is correct ,we will smash records in this region.

For the dates of June 26 through 28 Castlegar has the highest historical temperature of 39.4 C set in 1925. In that same year Grand Forks hit 38.9 C.

Nelson’s record high for this period is 37.8 C set in 1922. Trail recorded 36 C in 2002.
