Burn pile dismantled at Christina Lake

BC’s Wildfire Service is getting very serious about anything that is diverting resources away from their initial attack of fires.

Our Fire Information Officer Fanny Bernard says crews had to dismantle a huge party burn pile at Christina Lake earlier this week.

That was just the latest in several such incidents.

All open fires are banned at the moment and campfires are banned from noon Friday.

Hot days and wind with no rain are all part of the dangerous mix.

Anyone found on the scene of a party fire faces big fines.
