Rock Creek fire grows but partially contained

A mixed bag of news from the Rock Creek wildfire today.

It is now 25% contained which is the first time BC Wildfire Officials have confirmed that level of overall progress.

However the total size of the fire has grown by about 10% to over 4,200 hectares.

The new growth is along the south east flank.

Heavy smoke has limited the ability to map the blaze accurately and smoke may also restrict the operations of several aircraft involved in the fire fight.

Over 100 ground crew and 14 pieces of heavy equipment are involved.
