More money and time for pool reno

Nelson’s aquatic centre reno will start October 1st but it’s going to cost more and take longer than first thought.

The recreation commission has approved a construction budget of $4.82 million.

RDCK Community Services Manager Joe Chirico says that’s up from $4.1 million.

However Chirico says they won’t need to borrow any more money beyond what’s already been approved.

The project is now expected to take 11 months instead of 8.

The pool’s last day of operation will be September 19th.
