Some new lessons in BC schools are now being offered in terms of the commitment made following the 2014 apology to Chinese-Canadians.
They will focus on historic wrongs and the cultural and economic contributions of Chinese-Canadians.
Johnny Mah graduated from Stanley Humphries Secondary in Castlegar 15 years ago and his parents still own a business in town.
He remembers trying to teach his grade 5 class mates a few things about his background.
The new lessons will be taught to grade 5’s and 10’s.
