Camas event in Castlegar Sunday

It’s camas season in the West Kootenays!

The Kootenay Native Plant Society is inviting the public to celebrate the plant at Millennium Park in Castlegar for Camas Discovery Day.

In 2015 the City Of Castlegar designated over one acre of Millennium Park as a Camas Conservation Area making it one of the few protected areas for the species on municipal lands in Canada.

The event runs Sunday in the afternoon from 1pm til 4pm.

It will feature workshops to learn how to plan, propagate and be good stewards of camas as well as a number of activities for children.
