Castlegar seeks funding for Columbia Ave.

The City Of Castlegar is hoping to collaborate with the Ministry Of Transportation And Infrastructure to make improvements to Columbia Avenue.

The ministry has agreed to repave the area south of the Highway 3 Interchange and the city is looking to work on the road from 17th Street to 12th Street.

Here’s Councilor Dan Rye.

The city is looking for significant federal grant funding for the portion of Columbia Avenue which they have earmarked for repairs.

Rye says the 3.8 million dollar project is dependent on approval of federal funding.
