The Nelson Police Department says we live in a safe community but it just makes sense to lock your doors at night.

Sgt Paul Bayes is speaking to the four incidents of break and enter at night the last three weeks in the uphill area.

It’s believed the culprit or culprits are taking cash and personal property likely while the occupants are sleeping.

Bayes says it’s a good sign the offenders are not making any forced entry but the bottom line is they’ll go from house to house looking for the easy unlocked target
