Water damage to NDCC fitness centre

The fitness centre at the Nelson And District Community Centre will be closed longer than initially thought.

This as crews who were fixing the facility’s ducting have discovered significant water damage to the area and need to make repairs.

Here’s Stuart Horn, CAO for the RDCK.

The fitness centre’s equipment had already been moved to the arena floor to allow crews to work on the ducting upgrades and it will remain there until the water damage is fixed.

Horn says there is no time frame as of yet for when the fitness area will re-open.
