Smokey skies due to U.S. fires

A reminder to put out your campfires.

This from Karlie Shaughnessy with the Southeast Fire Centre who says they responded to 32 abandoned campfires over the long weekend.

She says mismanaging your fire can be costly.

Shaughnessy says the smoke in our region is from wildfires burning in Washington and Idaho.

She adds crews are currently fighting two small blazes north and north-west of Salmo.

She says the fires are of no threat to any structures or communities.
