New Kootenay Co-op store opens

A big day for the Kootenay Co-op which opened its new store.

At the front of the line at 7:30 this morning was Deborah Ryder of Slocan Park.

She was the last customer at the old location and wanted to be the first at the new one.

Co-op board president Abra Brynne says it realizes a longtime dream.

The new store is 20,000 square feet and is part of the Nelson Commons project at the east end of Baker Street.
