A Nelson seniors advocate says the city seems hell-bent on making life difficult for them.
Joan Reichardt of the Seniors Co-ordinating Society isn’t impressed with a hike in parking pass fees.
Nor does she think much of new rules that require garbage bags to be removed from their containers for pick-up.
Reichardt notes that while the city plans to hike taxes 4.8 per cent their pensions won’t go up by nearly that amount.
She says it doesn’t make Nelson a very seniors-friendly community.
