Nelson’s human library had no trouble finding people willing to share themselves as books.
Project co-ordinator Anne DeGrace says they’ll have a wide range of titles at the event on March 18.
Degrace says you can check out up to two of them for 20-minute sessions.
The idea is to dispel assumptions about people who experience prejudice or stigma.
The theme of the human library is “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”
Titles include Living with Schizophrenia, I Call Myself a Feminist, Compulsive Overeater turned Vegan, and Gender Queer: Being Non-Binary in a Binary World.
