Solution found to save Nelson minor baseball season

The City of Nelson believes it’s found a way to let minor baseball to complete its season.

The association booked Lions Park for more than the 100 hours allowed under the terms of their agreement.

But city manager Kevin Cormack says they’ll be able to use some other fields instead.

Permanent changes will be made at Queen Elizabeth Park this fall to accommodate younger players.

Meanwhile council has approved a request to take over maintenance of the baseball diamond at Lions Park, but they said no to allowing 12 year olds to play in tournaments there.
