Could Nelson do with a Volunteer Hub?

Should Nelson have a Volunteer Hub – a centralized, coordinated support base for its volunteer community?

That’s the focus of a feasibility study being done by Marjie Lesko on behalf of Nelson’s Social Planning Action Network – or SPAN.

A hub can promote volunteerism and many other important factors.

Lesko says there are an estimated 4,000 volunteers in Nelson involved in over 200 organizations.

She adds their input is critical in determining the community’s commitment to a volunteer hub.
