The Nelson chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women is marking its 50th anniversary.
President-elect Cathy Leugner says their original goal was to promote women in post-secondary education.
The local chapter awards an annual scholarship at L.V. Rogers and a bursary at Selkirk College.
To mark their anniversary they’ll host a brunch Sept. 10 featuring journalist Daphne Bramham.
